Thank you to all who submitted a photo during this busy time of year. I think they are all terrific and show me why and how "curves" can be used for creative endeavours.

Thanks everybody, especially Tess for the comments. I mainly give credit to the Tangband designers for having created those inexpensive little beauties.

As Tess mentioned technique, this was an intentionally really simple shot: Light was an Ikea lamp with a neutral white shade, which anyway stands next to the speaker, pulled fairly close to give a large diffuse angle, plus general room lights. I kept those on to get a little warm reflection from the wooden floor - therefore also in color, even if the first impression may be black and white only. Camera on a tripod, at an angle which highlights the cone's cross-section but still allowed to keep the frame filled with the black chassis and cover the entire membrane - it sits in a wooden board, which would have been distracting. Most difficult was to clean the speaker from dust. Manually focused on the tip and used my best guess for DoF. I didn't want to do any post-processing, so I simply dropped exposure to -3EV.

With everything outside frozen this morning, I'm looking forward to liquids!
