Challenge #378 - Lights in the night
Posted By: aiglobulles, 01-25-2017, 05:42 PM

Hello everyone,

First of all, thank you very much for electing my winning photo of the previous competition.
According to the rules, it is therefore up to me to propose the theme of the next:
I propose you the theme "Lights in the night".

Good luck to all, and let the trigger be with you

The challenge will close on midnight my time on Thursday, February 2 2017.

PS: Please excuse my misunderstanding and conjugation, but I was a bad student at school

The Rules:

1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Ricoh DSLR ) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, then the winner will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge

A good theme Bruno, even if I don't have many photos that fit here. I'll launch this contest, however, with this one, which I hope is the type of photo you were looking for...

Thirty-Seconds Downtown Pentax K200D, DA 18-55mm f/3.5-5.8 AL II @ 18mm, f/22, 30s on Bulb setting, 100 ISO, tripod.

Yes, this is ALL there is of "downtown," which is not much at all!

Lights strung from a bell tower in Dayton, Ohio. I hadn't used my Sigma 10-20mm lens in a long time and this was the perfect subject to induce me to put it on the camera.

Fun challenge! I love night photography - it's generally so peaceful and quiet. This was taken 1/1/17 in Petaluma, California.

Los Angeles and Griffith observatory. I went with the "sodium" white balance version :-)

" I saw the light"

When I was out driving it was rainy-windy -cold and I was hungry. The "Lights in the Night" from Taco Bell were like a beacon to me so that I could satisfy my craving.--charliezap

Full moon over Seattle skyline.

I almost missed this one. I was about to pack up after shooting the city skyline at sunset when several photographers arrived and started setting up next to me. Of course I stuck around and pretended like I knew what I was doing. It wasn't long until the full moon popped up mid-city.
