Posted By: DanLoc78, 08-06-2008, 06:22 AM

The week 12 thread (shapes) will run until Thursday since I started it late. This week's theme is places, and it'll run through next wednesday, August 13th.

BigBen, did you try the Guana Grabbers? Loved them, but I remember they gave me the worse hang-over I ever had!
Yeah, I love grabbers. Great place to watch a sunset as well. The food there has greatly improved in the past few years as well. Did you make it to nippers for a rum punch? Another mind bending drink!

Guana is such small "off the beaten track" kind of place, it's great to find people who know it. Did you stay there or on one of the neighboring Abaco islands?

Another Flusing Meadows park fan! What a fun place to shoot. And unless there's a ball game at Shea, or the US Open happening, a fairly uncrowded place too.

Well, since you've suspended the time frame rule.

The place is the Old Grist Mill at Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

To continue the "local places" subtheme that seems to be running, how about a shot of the Brooklyn Bridge, looking west towards Manhattan. Taken last fall with K10D and the trusty Zenitar 16mm fisheye.

I Missed out on the nippers rum punch - or maybe I just wasn't coherent by then! A friend of mine gets a charter for a week every year and I occasionally join him so we hop islands. We typically use either Green Turtle or Treasure Cay as our main base.

Yeah, your thread inspired me. I had different lighting since I was there late in the day. Still, a lot of cool stuff (and people to shoot). Fro example, these guys were playing a game of cricket.

Bramela, I left a peice of my foot in that pool thanks to some sharp coral. I loved studying in Newcastle for 6 months and I can't wait to go back this November!
