This thread's three starter images (from a handheld K-S2, at high ISO with an older Image captured at the Chippewa Nature Center wetlands area in Midland County, Michigan, with handheld Pentax K-S2 and smc Pentax-F 1:4.5-5.6 100-300mm.
The images are from an "Ultimate AIr Dogs" dock jumping competition at Midland, Michigan. Information at Ultimate Air Dogs - The Premier Dock Jumping Organization says former Detroit Tigers pitcher Milt Wilcox and his son Brian started Ultimate Air Dogs in 2005.

Hi all,

I was lucky enough to take a photo walk with a gentleman named Dave Henry this past weekend. He loves zoo photography and was an excellent guide. There were 12 of us in the group. Largely Canon shooters (as the class was run through the local Canon Learning Center but open to anyone who paid) but there were also 2 gentlemen who shot Olympus and then me.

Here are four shots I think came out well for a first-time trip like this. I used my new K70 and the Sigma 18-300.

View from my after work ski tour last night of town and the University (with the red roofs). Probably the last ski so close to town this year but as the photo shows a little higher up is still plenty snowy! It's just not quite as convenient. That's a C130, doing touch and go drills. We have the highest and longest runway in the lower 48 so it sees some training and testing use.
