Weekly Challenge #383 "Lost"
Posted By: jchorst, 03-28-2017, 02:04 PM

Thanks again, charliezap, for a wonderful contest last week. My theme for the next challenge is "Lost" - as in Lost Places, to get lost, "lost" trash, lost in thoughts - feel free to interpret the word as you like!

The challenge will run to April 5th midnight CET. Have fun!

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

lost kitty ??

cheetah cub, based on long guard hairs estimated as less than 4 months old. The color of the guard hairs allows it to disappear if it freezes and goes down among the grasses, Photographed in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania

Losing a game ... (I'm guessing it doesn't exactly fit the topic given the examples). I shot this right after the decisive point in a squash game

As I said: Feel free to interpret the word as you like. Your picture definitely fits the topic. Cheers, Christoph.

Terrific entries already, Christoph, and an intriguing theme. Here's my interpretation...

Lost Cause An abandoned nursing school vandalized by... vandals.

Many many years ago, a horse lost a shoe here in the bed of the Shotover River, New Zealand. Once this a bustling gold mining area. More recently it has been a favourite location for bungee jumping and jet boat adventures. Also this area was used in the filming of "The Lord of the Rings"

Good one... While I was admiring the view from one of the Adirondack High Peaks, a couple hobbled up to the summit in agony. They'd seen a trail sign (6 miles back down a rugged trail) and decided to go for a stroll -- in business attire, complete with high heels on the woman. That they made it at all is a sign of perseverance, if not intelligence.
