Welcome to another round of Picture of the Week (POTW).

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away

Please:

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:

2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM). If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one. If the thread doesn't start, please contact the host, via PM.

these are photos taken Yellowstone NP in the evening of June 8 2017 of cut throat trout attempting to get up the rapids of the Yellowstone River to reach Lake Yellowstone where they would spawn. ( Unlike Salmon, they do not die when they spawn ) It was difficult to photograph them because of the turbulence of the rapids. The fish were in the quieter (relative term) at the side of the river with the rocks providing them some protection prior to attempting to jump up the rapids.

[ I was caught with the wrong camera/lens combo - K 3 + HD PENTAX-D FA 150-450mm F4.5-5.6 ED DC AW hand held with modified stedistock brace - as I had been attempting to locate a bear reportedly across the river first then I went down to the platform at the rapids. The fish were directly below me about 10 feet down. I was on a tour and did not have time to change the lens. ]

These images were captured with my smc Pentax-F 1L4.5-5.6 100-300mm lens on my Pentax K-S2. The bird in silhouette in two photos is a black-crowned night heron. I don't know which birds are in the trees in the sunset landscape shot.

K-30 with Pentax WR 18-135 and Autorevuenon MC 50mm F1.7, and one photo +Raynox DCR-250
While I like both lenses, Autorevuenon gives more "artsy" feeling. Went out during lunch break today while the wildflowers are still up. Way too hot to go there everyday...

Thanks, it is simply a central grass lane in the middle of street, and it has a wildflowers planted. But the view is amazing, I usually make only "wallpaper" level photos, so I got some new wallpapers from this walk worth the walk in the heat...
I cannot stop looking at the mountains, though... ech....

I think it's a blasting mat, but this was in a residential area so I'm not sure...
