Some shots from a recent hike on a beautiful fall afternoon.

A bit under the weather this round, but I did manage to get out to a local chrysanthemum festival. The bees! These pictures don't do them justice, the flowers thick with languidly loaded bees getting just a little bit more pollen.
The purple flower looked nearly metallic in person, but I have no idea how to get that across in pictures.
Photos are watermarked and two of them cropped but they're otherwise unprocessed. My handy little Optio did the rest.




I hate selfie sticks, but I'm as vain as the next person on selfies. The shadow is me and my bicycle. Don't let that distract you from the lovely bee in the center.

OH BOY! POTW is rocking this week, fantastic stuff posted. Suffice it to say I am envious-especially of the snow. Its sweltering here in Johannesburg! Barbara, that last one is just plain fantastic!

mmm, I like obedient forumites. Well done on that owl - I concur, a pain to capture in captivity, and it seems they are always behind too much wire.
