# 409 Festivus for the rest of us.
Posted By: ramseybuckeye, 12-17-2017, 08:45 PM

Festivus - This is a wide open challenge and you can use any holiday that is in season, celebrated by anybody. And since everybody is busy during the Festivus season, judging will be done by likes ("ill be the tie breaker if needed), so let's hope there are a lot of participants, and even if you don't have an entry give those likes out. So have fun and get those cameras out! No examples, be creative!

Closing for the contest is midnight 25 December

The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture (and only one picture) in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for at least 7 days, plus an additional day, if required, for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

I will open up then
Since a couple of years we celebrate our X-Mas in Tunisia. I took this photo two years ago using my K3 + DA* 50-135.

I think it has a typical “holy land” Christmas feel, although as said it is in Tunisia.

Hope you all like the photo.

I really like these “light” photos. We do not have a lot of that “extreme” lighting in the Netherlands and you can forget Christmas lights in Tunisia.
Just one thing in Charlizap’s photo. The could have put the star on the tree a bit mor straight. But that just a small detail. You got my like anyway.

Going from the grand scale of the entries before this one to a small corner of the artificial tree my wife decorates every year; even though in the 30 Christmases we have been together, we have never spent Christmas Day at home. I took identical shots from f2.4 to f5.6, the clear winner is the one taken at f5.6. This photo is brought to you by the colours red and purple.

Ana Mraz (Ana cold)On each day of the festival one can see several short acts, clown tricks, pantomimes and circus skills, and one can also enjoy a longer street performance. This is a concept that makes a walk down the cold winter streets of Ljubljana very pleasant and exciting.
