Potw # 25
Posted By: gawan, 09-01-2008, 09:48 AM

Welcome to POTW # 25

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday August 24th through Sunday September 7th. I just took the turn, as I did not saw it started and a new week is here

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuffs.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days <Sunday September 1st to September 7th.>
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Peter, fantastic shot as the spider was doing its own gymnastic! The backdrop of red and pink really soften up the feel of the image.

Playing with B&W. I had this scene that I was not quote happy in colours, so tried it in B&W, and had some fun playing with digital filters. I think the red filter did the job rather nicely, hope not too much of it, what do you think?
Good work Georg. I like it.

I haven't used my camera the last couple weeks the way I normally do. But yesterday I went for a walk in Marion Bear Memorial park with my youngest son to lift my spirits a bit. I love walking with him, he spots things I don't. Here are three things we found along our walk:

All taken with the tamron 70-300 at 300mm and cropped. These guys were all quite some distance from me. The wind was blowing very hard. I normally don't carry my external flash with me, but something made me today and I was glad I had it for the spider shot as it was really blowing in the wind. I used the compact 360 flash.

Love the butterfly, Laree; nice blend of color there.

A few more from Saturday morning as the sun is rising - each photo is in sequence as it illuminates the grass.

All with the K20D with the DA*300 handheld, into the sun. Upper Bidwell Park, Chico.

Oh man I LOVE this image. What great light and I love the angle of the deer's head held high like this. Great work!

LaRee, I have to agree. Everything is just about perfect here. The angle that captured the grass in the foreground, the light that highlights the head, whiskers and ears. The head angle, great background. My only thought was the spot of dust(?) floating in the mid right. I wonder if it would be better cloned out or left in the shot.

I think a very good PPG candidate.

Btw your second shot above is excellent as well.
