Weekly challenge 12 - September 17 or 18 · 11:54 PM

I was hanging out in the back yard, chasing hummingbirds... what were you doing on August 24 OR August 25?

Contest open until midnight EST, September 14.

Good luck and let's see a huge herd of entries!

The Rules :
1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000) as a response to THIS post and it can be a digital photo or a scanned photo.
2. The photo must be taken on the date of the challenge and can be taken in any year.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The challenge host will pick the WINNERS and and the first place winner will host the next challenge and pick the next date.
6. The challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.

Sorry to be picky Roentarre, but you have a bit of a contridiction there.
Your title says Sept 17/18 (which would mean last year or earlier) and in your posting you say Aug 17/18.
Can you clear that up for us thanks.

James's opening picture seems to from August 17, so I think we can assume it was meant to be August!

This is one of the first tries with my freshly acquired VL125mm from Aug 17.

Well, it won't matter to me in any event I have nothing for any of the days mentioned Aug or Sept. Late summer/early fall is always a busy time for me at work.

On August 17th of this year, I took a drive into NYC to visit B&H. While there, I picked up a DA70.

Here's a shot I took with my new DA70 through the (open, but moving) car window on the way home. (no, I wasn't driving!) Even when you're moving fast, you don't get very far in 1/3000th of a second!

K20D, f/4.5, 1/3000th sec, ISO 400 crop/straighten/resize and curves/sharpening

I was glad to see that August 17th was given another chance. (I hope, anyhow!) I missed last week's challenge, and would have added this image last week, had I caught it in time.

Plus, hopefully all the really good images were "used up" last week!

Needless to say, I'm very happy with my DA70!

This is like a combo LBA/contest post!

Yes, it is Aug 17/18 instead. Yes, I am a little disoriented...

I looked at the last competition and the date was set on 7th or 8th of August. So I set the date just a week after that.

Now I just set the date to be 24th or 25th instead. Sorry, everyone!

Georg - that is a beautiful shot revealing wonderful bokeh (the current ebay price of this lens is making me salivate

) It was my mistake to start with but your post still counts

Alan - Composition and the colour are all great here. I see this as a worthwhile shot

Chris - your shot can evoke a lot of mixed feeling by a single photo. Great shot.

haha well here it was I was thinking deja vu and skunked again but with the new dates yahoo !! Here is one from 24-August-2007 if those dates are indeed included , if not enjoy the picture !

I have posted this before - not sure how this rig got up there but I would want some serious danger pay !

You might want to edit the starting post to reflect the date now set firm, so newcomers can avoid the confusion..
