Weekly Challenge #70 – Group Shots

I'm looking for creative group shots that tell a story or make you want to know more about the story. Standard posed groups shots are also allowed but would need to be exceptional to win. I've posted a couple of examples after the challenge rules. As you can see, my definition of "group" is pretty loose.

Please submit entries until midnight EST on Wednesday, September 17, 2008.

The rules:
1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be color or B&W, your choice.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but if you have to explain it, it probably doesn’t communicate what you are trying for.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.

I miss partaking in challenges... (and taking photos! ) This from over 1 year ago. Not creative, but 'unusual' experience for most. Part of the team seeing us off after spending two days in Tomson Safari's fixed camp just outside of the Serengeti; we were leaving to go to their mobile tent camp @ the norther part of the park, inside the Serengeti confines.

In a browse of my images I realize that I have very few group shots at all, let alone ones that are not posed. Here is one from a shoot I did at my son's school performance of Beauty and the Beast.

It was an outstanding performance. I mean truly top notch. They had some incredible talent. The show got a lot of publicity and rave reviews. A real joy to watch and shoot.

I don't mind the joke at all. Thanks for the laugh! And to share another bit.. Last year when my middle son was in his last year of high school and in this drama troupe, he would never take a ride home with me. One night after a performance it was drizzling and he still didn't want a ride. I went back to the dressing rooms to ask him something. As I was talking to him, this cute girl comes up swings around and gets real close to my son and says, "Kevin, will you unzip me?"
OHHHHH BROTHER!! It all became crystal clear to me then why he didn't want to rush out and get a ride home with his mom! This is what made the 2 mile walk home worth it.

It really does show just how fast they grow up and leave Mum and Dad behind. But are first to call on Mum and Dad when the going gets a little tough.
