Picture of the Week (POTW) # 511 - Covering 8 August to 21 August 2018
Posted By: Vaskebjorn, 08-16-2018, 12:28 AM

Welcome to the 511th edition of Picture of the Week (POTW), covering 8 August to 21 August 2018.

I will not include any pictures in the kick-off as do not have any photos yet that qualify. Due to medical reasons i did not get the opportunity to go out and take photos (yet). I will try to get some photo this week though, so fingers crossed. But don’t let that stop any of you. I liked last weeks hosting a lot seeing all these marvelous photos and I am confident this time there will be beautiful ones to.

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away.

Feel free to start immediately.

Please:

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM), but if you are interested and willing to host POTW, please send me a PM, before I contact others.

If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one. If the thread doesn't start, please contact the host, via PM. Here are the records of recent POTW thread hosts: 390 smf, 391 smf, 392 smf, 393 smf, 394 smf, 395 smf, 396 smf, 397 smf, 398 smf, 399 smf, 400 smf, 401 smf, 402 smf, 403 smf, 404 smf, 405 smf, 406 smf,407 ramseybuckeye, 408 ramseybuckeye, 409 stubyles, 410 stubyles, 411 stubyles, 412-423 SD_Bob, 424-427 dave kitson 428-451 smf 452, 453, 454 StephenHampshire 455 Aslyfox, 456 StepehenHampshire, 457 noelcmn, 458 noelcmn, 459 noelcmn, 460 noelcmn, 461 noelcmn, 462 noelcmn, 463 noelcmn, 464 noelcmn, 465 noelcmn, 466 noelcmn, 467 Aslyfox, 469-470 aaacb 471 Madmathmind, 472 Madmathmind, 473 Eva, 474 rjbrett, 475 Aslyfox, 476 - 485 noelcmn, 486 - 488 rjbrett, 489 clackers, 490 - 498 rjbrett, 499 StephenHampshire 500 smf, 501 StephenHampshire, 502 Eva, 503, Eva, 504 Eva, 505 Eva, 506-511 Vaskebjorn

Nice catch Nobody,
Somehow I get a 60s feel with this photo which works out great.

Hi Aaacb,

Nothing wrong with the K10. It was actually my second DSLR after the Ist DL.
Nice picture with a very clear vocal point.

I actually quite like it I have a k3ii as my main digital, and got this one because I wanted a less expensive digital camera as a backup and to have with me when commuting.

As I really liked this one and I was not at my six in total.
A great crested grebe mother with her little one. although it is already later in the year they apparently some offspring.

I almost posted in the weekly challengenumber 430, but I think this is outside the parameters

Thats why i got the K5. I upgraded from the K10 to K20 to K3. Then i wanted a backup and was doubting a K20 or a K5 and it ended up being the K5.
Nowadays i take both as my K3 is mounted with the DA* 300 and the K5 with the DA 50-135. And i end up never changing the lenses. I love these two and the setup works great.

All of the images below were captured with a K-S2.

The floral photos were captured at Dahlia Hill in Midland, Michigan. Dahlia Hill is maintained by volunteers. Details are at Dahlia Hill - unlike any other dahlia garden

The sunset shots (one with an incoming eagle) were captured from Whiting Overlook Park near Midland, Michigan.

Hi Smf,

Beautiful series. I am undecided between the first and the third photo.
I have been to Michigan a couple of times for work. Did not see anything other than Detroit though.

Thanks for hosting again Vaskebjorn, and some simply stunning stuff this week already! So many flowers- delightful. I was at Kloofendal Nature Reserve again yesterday, and very happy with what I got. A place that always has something new. All of these from that visit.
