Posted By: daacon, 09-21-2008, 09:43 AM

Welcome to POTW # 28

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday September 14th till September 27th.

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .
3) Any Pentax camera is fine, film, P&S, DSLR (or Samsung DSLR)
4) Runs for 7 days. Sunday September 14th to September 20th.
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

timbo13 - thanks for the comments glad you are enjoying Chicago more to come

Georg - thanks I really like the DA* 16-50 - the weather sealing came in handy and I think it is an extremely sharp lens I am a fan. Really like the leaves in #2 and the view , framing in #1 - old man winter is not too far away we have to get out and enjoy fall while it lasts.

Bruce beautiful orchids ! Love #2.

Bruce, nice orchid shots.

Georg, I am enjoying your nature images from Finland, they feel very familiar to me.

I got a box of mixed (in both type and condition) lenses yesterday, still trying to figure out all of what's in there, but I have started trying some of them out. This shot was taken with a Prospec 135mm f2.8 mounted on my macro bellows:

I think I will be spending some more time with this combination

Dave - Nope ! Different model but the way I shot her making them look alike . Very good eyes ! The model would not believe it's her , either ! I like the last shot with the little girl in it : what a story you could read from that photo .

timbo13 - Nice color on that shot .

Bruce - You're getting better everyday with flower shoots .

Georg - That tree/lake shot is screaming for high contrast BW . Yeah ?

GearHead - Welcome to POTW . I like that Mailbox/road shot : like a dreamy painting .

I have picked up a thing or two about .. female cothes . After all I must know what they wear and how to present the best on the images . This is a fashion bubble dress shot

It's the same model as the shot above .

Dave, I love the shot with the little girl - it really gives the fountain a human dimension. And you are right, the Prospec is a keeper.

Bruce, I am glad to see your spring flowers, as ours here in the north will be done soon.

Tran, thanks for the comment, that's one of the things that really pleased me about this image. And your work is lovely as always, I have no idea how you get your results, but I enjoy seeing them!

here's a couple more from the Prospec 135/2.8 on it's own:

milkweed:

swamp maples: (excuse me, red maples )

also in the box was a Vivitar 28mm f2.5, focused on the bee with the lens wide open:

I think the Vivitar is is a keeper, too!

Bruce, beutiful orchids!, That last extra will my favourite also!

Dave, that reflective monument was not an ellipsoid after all, I don't even know how to call that shape!

Beautiful rose, Tim, that must be seen in larger view!

Tran, excellent again! The portrait from Sunday somehow reminds me of the great film noir movies from late 40's of 50's, only you have it in colour! The latter has interesting old printlike colour!

Tim, I love the autumn maples, great colours!

I will show pines this time, in eveniong light

This has to be one of the best weeks we have had, I reckon. Some brilliant shots.

Thanks for the comments guys. Much appreciated. Going out to do some clicking today.
Tran : you continue to WOW us with these lovely model shots.
Timbo : nice shots. Love the Autumn shots. Will be a lot of them around soon, from your part of the world, I imagine.
Georg: love the lighting in that last shot. Very Autumn moody.

Dave : that shot of the little girl at the fountain. Great shot. Have you thought of cropping some. Reckon there is even a better shot potentially there?

Okay, challenge accepted, thanks for the tip, here is first try, turned out okayish, but could not help burning the sky even more white, but maybe it does not matter?
