Last week week was a bit low on photos, so i do expect a catch up this week with a lot of fantastic photos this week. I liked last weeks hosting a lot seeing all these marvelous photos and I am confident this time there will be beautiful ones to.

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away.

Photos from a recent hike in the white mountains (shot with the k3ii, 16-85 and dfa 100 macro).


First some waterfalls.







Then a lucky break in the clouds while descending at sunset. There were clouds above and below us.





I think I was luck timing this trip, the leaves were so brightly colored

I did some hiking around Duluth Minnesota, this is part of the St. Louis River section that the fur traders had to portage around to get from Lake Superior to the inland lakes and streams. Shot this handheld with the K3 and DA100 macro, I used a high ISO to get a fast shutter speed. The second pic is a 100% crop.

I noticed on upload that the size of the second pic was reduced from around 1M to about 200k bytes - the 1M looks a bit sharper.

Wow some fabulous stuff around here. These hikers are making me quite envious! And so too are the birdies! I'll not hold it against ye all! A contribution from me. ITs been a tough couple of weeks, and did not get around much. Mostly Zoo Lake, where I do a daily 9km exercise walk.
It's Gosling season


And just gotta share this even if it is just outside the time frame-happily busy on the net on Sunday afternoon, and hear some chirping sounds and thinking its gotta be a bird in the yard, I rushed to the bedroom to get the Camera, and upon coming back to the lounge, what should I see, but four goslings/ducklings come straddling , chirping and calling (for parents no doubt) into the lounge. I just could not believe my eyes! All helpless and lost, and where an how they got here will remain a mystery. In any event, I gathered them into a box, and took them to the SPCA, except they are closed on Sundays. So I had to keep them overnight, and next morning I took them back to the SPCA, where they were to be given to an organisation that will find a suitable home and/or raise them to adulthood. I think they are Mallard ducklings. Too a few shots of them too. Here they are in the box.
