Challenge #436 Cars and trucks and things that go.
Posted By: rod_grant, 10-16-2018, 02:40 AM

This week's challenge is transport stuff; anything that comes unfer the heading of "cars and trucks and things that go".
My examples below are less than outstanding, but that's OK because I am not trying to win!
You lot, on the other hand, need to put up extraordinary stuff (so I can learn!).

The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to select and be the judge for the next week's challenge.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used as well as P/S cameras.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge

My examples;

Your examples set the bar pretty high.

I do not have a lot of “means of transportation” photos, but i liked this one of a classic car and it’s driver.

The S.S. Klondike transported virtually everything up and down the Yukon River from 1929 to 1950. It is now parked on dry land in Whitehorse and is open to the public as a national historical site.

things that go slow and fast.

Every Summer the Hood blimp flies over my home on its way to Fenway Park Boston when the Boston Red Sox are playing at home. It usually is only a couple hundred feet over my home compared to the Jet liner that is really moving along at 30,000 ft.--charliezap

What an awesome theme, right up my alley Rod!

Let me see, um, hey!

Wait a minute!

I have literally thousands of photographs that would meet this challenge.

No fair!

I can't choose just one.

Oh well, I will try this one.

It is Paul Newman, racing a Nissan 300ZX at the SCCA Trans Am race at Portland International Raceway, I believe in 1986.

Shot on Kodachrome film. Ricoh XR2s, Pentax SMC 500mm f4.5. Copied from Kodak Kodachrome slide film using a Pentax M Bellows and slide film copier using a Pentax K10D.

Racer, that nearly meets the requirement for being produced by Ricoh/Pentax equipment.

Edit; You might have to lose a mark for the advertising on the car though!

It should get bonus points for being created with a Ricoh camera with a Pentax lens, and copied more than 20 years later with all Pentax gear.

It's likely your anti-virus. I have the same problem on my work computer.

This is a direct link.

Could also be your browser. I had a problem seeing some photos of a few members due to FireFox's Tracking Protection. I turned it off for this site because this site is secure.
