POTW #527 - Covering period 2 December - 16 December 2018-
Posted By: noelcmn, 12-11-2018, 03:39 AM

Welcome to the 527th edition of Picture of the Week (POTW), covering 2 December to 16 December 2018.

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away.

Feel free to start immediately.

Please:

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM), but if you are interested and willing to host POTW, please send me a PM, before I contact others.

If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one. If the thread doesn't start, please contact the host, via PM. Here are the records of recent POTW thread hosts: 390-406 smf, 407-408ramseybuckeye, 409-411 stubyles, 412-423 SD_Bob, 424-427 dave kitson 428-451 smf 452, 453, 454 StephenHampshire 455 Aslyfox, 456 StepehenHampshire, 457-466 noelcmn, 467 Aslyfox, 469-470 aaacb 471 Madmathmind, 472 Madmathmind, 473 Eva, 474 rjbrett, 475 Aslyfox, 476 - 485 noelcmn, 486 - 488 rjbrett, 489 clackers, 490 - 498 rjbrett, 499 StephenHampshire 500 smf, 501 StephenHampshire, 502-505 Eva, 506-525 Vaskebjorn, 526 noelcmn

My apologies, this is a day late-but, better late than never! Starting us off!
Day lily after some rain yesterday

The theme for Sunday's Daily In Challenge was B/W Portraits, and I asked some of the kids from the church for a few.

I always get excited when I see a Jumping Spider. It's quite amazing to watch them jump, seems totally effortless and quick

Spiderman is about to get kicked around

Here is a sampling of film photos taken last week and developed in the past few days. These were taken for the Film Shooters' Challenge, and all are encouraged to participate!

===

All taken with K2, M50f1.4, Lomo 100 shot at box speed and "stand developed" for 40min in Unicolor C41, blixed 60 min. Development looks pretty good to me, but I did manage to manhandle the negs too much prior to scanning, so they have some artifacts, dust, and microschmutz stuck to them.

You can see the rest of the keepers from this roll here.

It was a successful week #1!

This image was captured with a handheld K-S2 and an older Pentax 100mm macro lens.
Best wishes.

Well, I was going to play but 49 degrees F outside my house this week is too darn cold for this body 105lb to go out there.

Here's one. Too wet, and cold for the rest of the week so far.

I was standing on our carport in my socked feet, point K-30 with new to me 55-300mm WR and it was raining, my feet were getting wet and I was shaking from the cold to get this shot. It's not in focus as much as I'd like but, that's all I got. It's a White Ibis looking for the worms the rain made surface in our neighbor's yard.

From today, with da 15, 55-300, both worked just find even though it was a bit colder than the suggested -10c. This was around Mount Kinsman in New Hampshire

Smf, Photolady95 and aaacb, considering the 37⁰C we are suffering at the moment, I am totally envious!
smf- nice shot, nice details.
Photolady95, not nearly as bad as you think. I like Ibises, except for the Hadeda Ibis, its noisy too early in the morning.
aaacb- that 2nd shot is magical! great timing with that light!

Keep them coming folks, a day or two before the next POTW is paunched (if I remember )

I'm going to try to get out this morning later to the docks, if my sisters don't interrupt that adventure, I'll have more to post this afternoon.

Here's three I got today:

Female Boat Tailed Grackle who followed me around trying to get some bread. I kept telling her I didn't have any so she posed for me, hoping to get a handout.

Another waiting for a handout. but no one was feeding them today. Usually there are three of four people there feeding the gulls and the grackles.

And this one, we had a stare down. I don't know why, but that what he/she was doing for about 10 minutes, just staring. Kind of spooky come to that, having a gull staring at you.

Reflections vs. Reality

Saw this reflection in the safety mirror & realized it complimented the trees in the frame itself...

Thanks! It paid off to wait for a few minutes for the clouds to move, although I could stand still only for so long before getting cold.
