Weekly Photo Challenge #442 Winners
Posted By: djb47, 12-12-2018, 06:45 AM

Bruce -- great seascape sunset. Like the golden color and the reflections of the walkers.

RGlasel -- brings back fond memories of playing pinocle with my family whenever we got together.

atupdate -- fine looking abastract. Like how the drops vary in size and shape.

aaacb -- definitely uncommon behavior. Nice capture and I like the black and white.

Vaskebjorn -- great capture. The little guy does look happy and has great textures.

dlh -- like that collection odds and ends. My wife has a similar cookbook inherited from her grandmother.

charliezap -- awesome capture. One can feel the power of Mother Nature's fury.

jacamar -- excellent capture. Nice color contrast and details. I like the intensity in the eyes and background bokeh.

Merv-O -- lovely sunset and nice silhouettes. Like the lamp post on the right.

ramseybuckeye -- nice composition. Reminds me of Hockhills SP.

clackers -- lovely portrait with nice even lighting.

Hattifnatt -- nice composition. One can feel the intensity of the look in the little girls eye.

sealonsf -- I like this image a lot. I see securit and contentment in those eyes. Good capture.

jchorst -- appropiate title and a nice portrait for the theme.

eva -- excellent landscape and POV. Looks like a great place to visit and take a ballon ride.

noelcmn -- another lovely portrait of a lovely young lady.

Wasp -- interesting composition. Like how you captured the details in the ends of the sticks.

This was a hard decision to make. So many excellent photos to have to select just one.

1st place pick goes to jacamar. Love the look in the kit's eyes.

2nd place goes to charliezap. Great capture of the storms's fury.

3rd place goes to sealonsf. Such a peaceful image.

Honorable mentions go to: Bruce Clark, ramseybuckeye and eva

Thanks to everyone who submitted photos.

Thanks so much Don - there were some great shots in this week's challenge and I'm thrilled that mine was chosen. Congrats to charliezap and sealonsf, and also to the "honourable mentions" and everyone else who posted. For a change the light isn't too bad outside so I think I'll head down to the waterfront and take a few photos, and give some thought to the new challenge.

Just in the shallow ponds for now. Not so good for pics of kingfishers and puddle ducks, but possibilities for owls, snow buntings, coyotes, lake ducks..... it's all about being optimistic!
