Welcome to the Weekly Challenge #445, and this week it's EQUUS. Wikipedia "Equus is a genus of mammals in the family Equidae, which includes horses, donkeys, and zebras.". The brief for this weeks challenge is anything Equus, but I would like to make it quite broad to include not just live equus but anything else that represents Equus in one form or another- such as Art, Sculptures, Figurines etc. just in case some folk are not able to get to farms/nature reserves etc for live Equus. In the examples below you'll find a variety of presentations. There is also a Thread dedicated to horses, which has some wonderful images. This challenge is wider and includes Donkeys and Zebras.

The fine print:

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to select and be the judge for the next week's challenge.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used as well as P/S cameras.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.













The Challenge will close at 12:00 SAST (UTC +2:00) on the 13th January 2019, but seeing that I will be asleep then, closure and judging will take place on Monday, you may utilize the extra hours for submissions.

I have very few equine photos in my library, members of the bovidae family are far more common. In fact, I have more pictures of goats than I do of horses. This one was taken with a manual focus SMC A 70-210 f4 lens, my camera decided to use f20, not me.
