Welcome to the 535th edition of Picture of the Week (POTW), covering 28 January 2019 to 10th February 2019. Let's see what you have been shooting these past two weeks. Around here, we are entering the Valentine season, retailers are preparing for he onslaught, and florists are keeping their pockets open! Let's make it the theme for this and the next edition of POTW- Anything to do with LOVE- something or someone you Love, Romance and candlelight dinners, flowers and chocolate, romantic picnics and sunsets! Well, that will give us a few ideas. Take up the challenge and then post here!

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away.

Feel free to start immediately.

Please:

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

Kicking us off again.
Thick billed Weaver, here displaying at the newly built nest, hoping to attract a mate.

And the Macho approach to attracting a mate- Bishop bird, in breeding plumage.

And I'm growing in my love and respect for the kids at the Shelter where I started working beginning of January- they live in a very confined space, but as with most kids, they make do with what is available. Skipping rope is popular

Love and marriage

Flowers win in the love stakes

And the destroyer of all romance

Just two photos this week, went on a hike in otherwise very nice weather, but it was cloudy at the top. Got to test my new peak design capture v3, does what I hope it would do.

I just sent three rolls of film for development, so next week I should have more to show

It's a holiday week here in Hong Kong.

Very nice Merv-O. Have you considered a square crop for that rose! It a beaut, and a square crop will enhance its impact.

You know I thought about doing it but I liked the slightly out of focus roses and the baby's breath. But I think I'm going to take your advice & square crop it. It's. not for the contest just for giggles. Here it is

Appreciate that you want to keep the Baby's breath, but a tighter crop is what I had in mind If you don't mind, I downloaded it,and gone with this! I quite like it. Perphaps its just me, but roses need to be up close and personal.

Posted elsewhere here, but I thought these were a good catch yesterday...

Seals hauled out and lazing on the ice in my marina boat basin in Holyrood, Newfoundland. K-70, 55-300mm PLM/100mm WR. The new version of Silkypix (9 pro) really does an extremely nice job on the tones in the sunless, gloomy, and quite low contrast conditions, in my opinion. (click pics for EXIF info)

Nice pics. I do think the central orchid can use a little PP brightening. A 10 sec hack job with Silkypix 9 here just to give an idea of what might be done in PP...

Nice work there Noel, It really is quite a new world with the technology. Whenever I look at a recent photo, I am surprised by its quality. Then, post-production turns it into a phenomenal photograph. I appreciate the tips on composure of images. That has honestly, never been my strong suit.
