POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away. Feel free to start immediately.

Please:

consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM), but if you are interested and willing to host POTW, please send me a PM, before I contact others.

With Spring in the air, I focused on early blooms and 2 croissants in my favorite bakery's display case....

Some photos taken with my Ricoh GX100 Caplio in the grounds of a nearby community centre. It took me a couple of minutes to realise the slightly different toning on the cordyline came from a mild digital green filter I used to lighten the foliage. I processed these in Topaz Studio and Topaz B&W effects, and as the color filter in that module is global and not local, I can't selectively apply it within the picture. I do like the tone on the photo though, so I've kept it;

I've gotta say it - Nice legs aaacb ! - they weren't actually dancing were they ?

A contribution from me- From my visit to Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens yesterday, a public holiday here. Just a few hours there, and very blessed to see for the first time, a Half Collared Kingfisher.

And close by, a Giant Kingfisher

And a bit further away

The major attraction - Witpoortjie Waterfall

From the bird hide where I saw the above birds

Strelitzia from Zoo Lake with crazy bokeh

Noel: have you ever photographed Victoria Falls in Zambia? A former (girl)friend of mine was from there and it is just magnificent...an 8th wonder of the world...since you are on the continent, I thought I would inquire...great photos as usual.

Thank you! The short answer is no, for various reasons. I was close enough a couple of years ago, when I did a mission trip to Zimbabwe, and at the time did not realise I was that close. Maybe an hour or so drive and I would have been there. Finances are troublesome too! On the bucket list though, but unlikely to ever see the light of the falls .
