Welcome to Weekly Challenge #459 - Squirrels

Squirrels seem to be a favorite subject of many photographers, They are plentiful in most areas and offer many photo opportunities. For this challenge we'll accept any type of squirrel, chipmunk or related rodent.

The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

The Challenge will run until midnight next Sunday, 2 June, whichever time zone you are in.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Nice contest, unfortunately i have never seen a squirrel over here ever, so I will not be able to participate.
Looking forward to the entries though.

Public transport is reasonably good in the Netherlands. My guess is the simply take the bus or maybe the train

On the other hand, we developped something innovative. We could export this to the US. Apparently you have more squirrels and i would bet worse public transport

I do have “other rodents” (footnote 1)

, but these are not local, we keep them in a zoo.

I was going to enter a picture of a pika, but they are lagomorphs, like rabbits and hares, not rodents. I do have more pictures of squirrels than horses or cattle, but none of them are in the same class as the other entrants, so I will enter a picture of three black-tailed prairie dogs, not because the picture is so impressive, but it is only overshadowed by Tim's entry; better to be second best in a field of two than dead last in a field of many, I say.
