Weekly Challenge #472 - No longer functioning
Posted By: Bruce Clark, 09-16-2019, 11:23 PM

For this challenge I invite members to submit images of machinery that no longer functioning. Worn out, obsolete, broken, beyond repair. The more unusual the better.

Good luck

The Challenge will run from now until next Tuesday September 24th

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Examples...

1. Water wheel encrusted with calcium deposits. Cape Leuuin Western Australia
2. Blast furnace in the hills near Geelong Victoria.

It may be a stretch of the definition of machinery but. . . . .

Old car in the valley - all of the identifying markers have long since rusted away. Perhaps there is an old car buff among us who can tell us what make we are looking at?

Many memories

On the banks of the Saugus River with the General Electric River Works Plant in the background this was a popular docking and fishing area many many decades ago.Time does take its toll.--charliezap

Abandoned crane between the 8th and 10th Fairways at Scotland Run Golf Club (Williamstown, NJ)--a reclaimed land course that winds it's way through an abandoned quarry, The crane and other pieces of equipment remain along the course as a reminder of its industrial past.

My guess is a Ford Zephyr Mk2
(I'm old(er) but not a car buff; I just lusted after one when I had my original Zephyr)

My guess is something to load sheaves of grain or some other crop that has been wrapped or bound (so the bundle can be hooked on the fingers radiating out from a hub) into a wagon with high sides. It looks like you can load it from both sides at the same time.

Well, it is no longer functioning as a truck

However the solar panels power pumps so cattle can be watered from the plastic tank on the back of the no longer mobile truck. Taken with SMC A 70-210 f4.
