Welcome to the 572nd edition of Picture of the Week (POTW), covering 21nd October - 3rd November 2019. Let's see what you have been shooting these past two weeks. POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away. Feel free to start immediately.

Please:

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM), but if you are interested and willing to host POTW, please send me a PM, before I contact others.

If possible, the new thread will be linked to the previous one. If the thread doesn't start, please contact the host, via PM. Greetings all! This should be a short thread...

Last weekend I went on a macro photo-shoot with a local Meetup group. These were taken at the HK Zoological and Botanical Gardens:

Yesterday I went into town (Hong Kong) for lunch and to see a photo exhibit (Ed van der Elsken's photos of old Hong Kong). We got caught up in some protest activity and I can now say that I've been tear-gassed!

It started out as a typical wander around town and some light-hearted shots:

After lunch in Wan Chai we were making our way back to the subway station when we heard sirens and saw crowds of young people in black running down side streets. As we approached the main street we saw someone throw an unlit molotov cocktail at a police van, which stopped and launched a tear gas grenade down the street to the right. I snapped a photo of the van as the sliding door closed (you can see smoke lingering in the air) when another canister came shooting from the right and bounced off the curb in front of me (you can see the canister in the air). Totally accidental shot... Couldn't avoid breathing some of the gas and the tears were definitely flowing!

Soon afterwards we watched a guy launch a lit molotov cocktail at the police:

Wow, very interesting

Strange morning the other day. Our temperature dropped just after sunrise from 72 to 42 in the span of 20 mins, continuing to fall throughout the day to 29 overnight. I live on a high ridge overlooking a small valley. I was completely in fog, but the valley was mostly clear except for a few patches here and there.

Thanks for stepping in Tim, My apologies, POTW slipped my mind after a heavy week of ministry last week. Here's a contribution from me. My K30 is in for repairs, so I've been shooting with my K200D

Wow! Glad you weren't injured (more than the tear gas, which alone sounds quite unpleasant).

Noel thanks for hoting so many POTW before, and thanks nosliwmit for continuing it.

Last week I got a GRD, so here is one from the GR III and one from the 14-15 years older GRD. I'm planning to have a post comparing the two after I get to use it for a few more weeks, it's surprising how similar and usable they are and yet how much better performance the newer one has.

I also have some concert shots, and from a short bike ride and walk in the woods (K3II, with DA 16-85 and then FA 43)

And to add even more randomness to this post, here's an interesting car I saw on my way to the concert:
