#483-Movement (using Time Exposure)
Posted By: The Foto Guy, 01-09-2020, 10:46 AM

The last couple of weeks, we've been challenged with up high images, down low images, seems only right for too slow images. For this challenge, I want to see your favorite photos showing movement using time exposure.
Contest runs from January 9 through January 16, 2020.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Here's a few of my favorites over the years:

Great challenge, unfortunately not really my cup of tea as i do not have a tripod and work handheld only (well i recently bought a monopod because my tele is getting heavy or I am getting older )
This one is taken in the harbor of Port el Kantaoui and has an exposure of just 1 second. I put the camera on the floor for this photo.

Upper falls at Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills. Not far from where Ramsey's entry last challenge was taken.

A one second exposure of a small log trapped between rocks in a fast flowing stream.

This is Boch Hollow in the Hocking Hills, you can barely see the top of Robinson Falls through the top of the gap in the rocks in the background. This is about 20 miles northeast of Tim's (atupdate) photo above

Memorial Bridge

Great shots here so far. Here's one of Memorial Bridge in DC, from the backside of the Lincoln Memorial looking across the Potomac toward Arlington Nat'l Cemetery. Back before Kevin Spacey ruined House of Cards, I was really inspired by the opening sequence with the various time-lapse shots around DC (especially the ones at night) and wanted to get out there myself. If you're ever in DC with your camera, an after-dark photo walk is a great activity.

Beauty in Motion

I have this one, 1,6 seconds. The flash froze the motion of the girls. The background came in due to the long exposure and got blurred, giving the photo an impression of speed. Or so I hope.
