Ok, so the title of the post says from 9 March but I changed it to 8 March because I can. And because I want to post something! Even at that I'm going to cheat on one photo (lizard) that was taken on the 7th... It's starting to warm up here in HK and the lizards and geckos are starting to make some appearances. I like them but not so much the warm weather!

Thanks for hosting again Nosliwmit, nice shot of that lizard.
The garden of the wing of the Orphanage where I work has been blooming fantastically, and I've taken full advantage, especially the critters that came for their share of the spoils

It's getting colder around here, and Autumn is making her presence known

And my favorite subject- Street Art- this one is more of a promotional affair.

I took my dog and my K10D for a walk in a local park today. Gotta love those CCD colors.

Thanks for a little look at my old city. I spent the first half of my life in the Philadelphia area (Delaware County), but I really haven't been back but maybe once in the past 38+ years.

The Ben Franklin is a bit special to me. My grandfather was the foreman for the electrical contractor when the bridge was being built (known as the Delaware River Bridge then), and my dad was an apprentice electrician on the job. Nepotism, maybe?

Below is an old photo of my dad (man on the right) atop the bridge superstructure during construction – notice all the safety precautions. I am guessing the photo was taken in 1924. The bridge opened on July 1, 1926, which was my dad's birthday. He would have been 21 years old on opening day.

Thanks again for the pix.

we are in quarantine, nothing is happening at the moment, I still managed to make a few photos when I went with my dog on a walk. This is still allowed.Streets & parks are empty, there's just few people outside ,public transportation is stopped(trains ,buses),transport that must travel across our country is escorted in convoys , all bars ,restaurants(some still offer food delivery),hairdressers, non-food stores ect. closed, small bakeries still work but part-time or every other day, grocery stores, post offices, banks pharmacies, gas stations work but with adjusted working hours, the health system is still working but everything is focused on patients with covid -19, all non urgent matters canceled, emergency medical and dental services established. We are Italian neighbors.Let's hope for as few casualties as possible.

AggieDad:

Thanks for sharing. Your father's generation was the industrial engine of this country. The Ben was so over engineered and advanced for its day, it still is in excellent condition. In fact, the train runs east and west between South Jersey on rails built into the bridge in 1925 and remains the lifeline of the Port Authority trains East and Westbound over the bridge (also obviated the need for a tunnel).
Here's a recent one I took driving in to Center City Philly, though not technically a picture of the week, it is in context....

Great photos this week eva and I especially like this one! I've seen plenty of these things on the ground and while I might normally pick them up and drop them in the trash I'm hesitant to touch them! Hong Kong is getting worse now, after weeks of stability. My relatively small neighborhood had its first confirmed case yesterday...

Unlike our lives, nature remains unchanged by the virus. So I decided to participate in the topic with a few photos from yesterday. Taken with K 500 & Tamron 17-50/2.8

Lovely oak tree by the bench, I imagine that's a calming spot to contemplate at.
