Caption Competition 09/04/20 to 16/04/20
Posted By: Liney, 04-08-2020, 05:57 PM

Welcome to the next Caption Contest. With the current "stay and home" advice and the fact it's a long weekend in many countries, hopefully this will give you something to ponder for a day or two.

Rules:
Any forum member may invent and post a caption for the photo, posting the caption as a reply in this thread.
All readers of the thread, including those posting captions, are encouraged to vote for any and all of the captions they appreciate by liking them using the forum's like feature.
At the end of the contest period, the host will count the votes and report who won. In case of a tie the host gets to break the tie, but will not otherwise submit a caption or vote.
The winner will be notified ASAP by the current host by PM and a post in the thread. The new host should post a link to the new contest thread at the end of the caption contest round just finished.
Submissions should be text (no video or audio files) — caption, limerick, motivational, poem or prose — whatever inspires you to describe the photo or catch attention. Submit by replying to the thread. Contestants may submit more than one entry but it must be in a separate post.
Important:
Even if you do not submit an entry, please like any posts you feel deserve it as this is how the winner is chosen. And if you do submit an entry, please also find an entry that you like from among your competitors' efforts and like that one as well. Enter often, vote more often. and most important: Have fun !

This one was taken a few years ago in Auckland, do your worst

Yes, my mother was right. She is out of my league. I have to look for the mate somewhere else.

OK, once again and watch closely. This is how you walk on ice and not embarrass yourself by falling on your butt.

Sarah started to realize, contemplating the meaning of life in a penguin habitat may NOT have been the best choice!

Well folks I will apologise for not closing the competition on the correct date, by the time you take timezones into account I should have done this yesterday but for various reasons I had to go into the office! The inconvenience of having to get dressed and look presentable was just not cricket doncha know...

I must admit I would have put a caption up drawing attention to the radio in the young ladies hand as some form of remote control device for the penguin, perhaps with a complaint that the "flight" button was not working, but I think we got a good spread of responses.

Tallying up the votes I think it was safe to say that this weeks winner is aslyfox, congratulations young man, over to you
