POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range. In other words, you can post your shots from this week AND last week.

To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away. Feel free to start immediately.

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM), but if you are interested and willing to host POTW, please send me a PM, before I contact others.

And here are some shots from me. All are macros and all were taken with my K-1 mark II, D FA 100mm macro and my AF080C ring flash.

Seen while walking the dog late last week (and posted elsewhere on this forum):

We see a lot of snails in our yard. The shell on this one was very pretty but it's out of focus in this shot:

Unknown caterpillar:

Another unknown caterpillar:

And a lovely (very small) moth:

Thanks for hosting again Nosliwmit - as usual I like all your critters. Looks like a Rat snake in the first image.

I'll start off with Fester the cat. I had bought a new (old used) Sigma 50mm manual focus macro lens and was taking some test shots. I already have a copy of this lens, but it is missing the zoom ring so I don't expect it to last forever. Anyway Fester came up and laid on the desk, he likes to be with people, and the camera was sitting up there because I have just loaded photos to the computer. I turned on the camera, live view, nudged it a little to frame him, and manually focused and took a dew photos. He moved in a couple and was half asleep in a few, this was my favorite:

My wife and I went for a walk on the beach on Topsail Island, there are several of these towers on the island, some converted to homes. I had to do a little research, they were built my the US Navy after WWII when the island became a missile test site. There were eight built and seven remain. When that test site was built the island was uninhabited by humans, there are a few thousand now, and a lot more seasonally:

On Topsail Beach:

Yesterday I was able to take a nice long walk of a few miles on a beach seeing no people except at my starting/end point. This is Lea-Hutaff Island and except for the southern tip and shoreline, is reserved for nesting birds and sea turtles. I saw a few birds, terns, willets, pelicans, and I think purple martins, this is the Atlantic side of the Island, the other side is salt marshes:

Nice photo, and very sharp. I also have a cat that doesn't like to be ignored... The tower shot is intriguing and the beach shot also makes me want to go somewhere!
