Weekly Challenge #499 - Glowing
Posted By: Kerrowdown, 06-08-2020, 05:56 AM

Thanks to nosliwmit for hosting last weeks challenge and picking my entry to win. So folks your stuck with my choice for this week's challenge... which is "Glowing".

I'm hoping that it will allow enough scope for some interesting theme interpretations.

This challenge will close on 14th June 2020 (Sunday) @ 18:00 BST.

Each week the new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge

A few examples just to get the ball rolling:

An abandoned yacht colonised by cormorants at Swan Bay, Victoria Australia. The late afternoon sun really does wonders.

A dark stormy sky can help produce some fine rare light when the sun gets through

This was in an ice sculpture exhibition with music as theme, but is was terribly dark in the room. I actually had to use ISO 25600 for this one.

The first of about 9 shots, with a single light before all the lights were going. Manually focusing with a foggy viewfinder produced only this one in-focus shot which required some heavy dodging and burning.

I'm going for a literal interpretation of this theme.

I took this as part of a series called "Fleeting glimpse". It was taken at Firestone Copse on the Isle of Wight on my Spotmatic F on Ilford HP5+ with a red filter (Cokin A003) on a very sunny day
