My thanks go to noelcmn for hosting last weeks challenge and selecting me to set this weeks. So for this week my choice is a favourite genre style of photography for myself... "Ethereal".

I'm looking forward to seeing some dreamy delicate imagery.

This challenge will close on 19th July 2020 (Sunday) @ 18:00 BST.

Each week the new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax/Ricoh (DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge

This is "Venus Sky" from November 2012. Notes say K-5 DA40 f 2.8 1/30 ISO 12,800. I tried some NR later, but prefer this version.

I loved the natural rock formations here and with the tide coming in roughly against them I thought a long exposure (aided by an ND filter) would work well to capture something similar to what you'd find in a fantasy novel. When I saw this weeks theme "Ethereal" this image came instantly to mind as I thought it encapsulated the image quite well. So much so that it finally got me to make the transition from lurker to finally signing up and posting on this forum!
