My floral images below were captured approaching the entrance of the Visitor Center at Dow Gardens in Midland, Michigan. I used a monopod-mounted Pentax K-S2 with an older Pentax 100mm macro lens. I have been posting a floral image daily at Facebook since late May, hoping to give people something to which they can look forward during the pandemic.

This spider has been living in a bush in my back yard for many weeks. I don't know what it is but it's pretty big (maybe 7 or 8 cm diameter with legs):


A white-throated kingfisher has been visiting our yard very briefly most afternoons. Yesterday I brought the camera out in anticipation and I got lucky:

It's been quite a while since I posted here and honestly, a good while since my camera has been out of it's bag. But comet Neowise has been a good incentive to take some shots. Night skies aren't really my thing but comets are a rare oppurtunity not to let pass.
K5, DA 50 1.8, f/2.2. ISO 1600 at 8 seconds. I'll be making some more attempts if the weather permits.
