Welcome to the 606th edition of Pictures of the Week (POTW), covering the period 22 August to 5 September, 2020. Let's see what you have been shooting.

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range.
To post your great photos, just hit reply and attach away. Feel free to start immediately.

Please:

• consider including in your post any special circumstances or tips on technique or equipment which might be interesting to others.

• identify your camera and lens if that information is easily available to you.

And please invite other Pentaxians to join us.

Some rules:
1) No theme, just post your favorite pix
2) Six or fewer images per person per thread to prevent thread bloat
3) Any Pentax, Ricoh or Samsung camera, film or digital

The current host will invite a new host via Private Message (PM), but if you are interested and willing to host POTW, please send me a PM, before I contact others.

Thanks very much to all previous hosts and to people who have posted images!

I was playing around with some macro photography and goofy settings on the camera in the kitchen yesterday and ended up with a few images that I like (all taken with my K1ii and D-FA 100 macro:

A pour spout for a bottle of olive oil:

A meat thermometer:

And a citrus zester:

Thanks for hosting, due to some unexpected travel with limited opportunities to shoot, I haven't go much this week and may not next week either. But I have a few, all with the KP and 55-300 PLM:

Thanks for hosting, nosllwmit.

Hoping to give people something to which they can look forward during the pandemic, I have been posting a daily floral photo at Facebook.

Here are two of those photos, captured with a monopd-mounted Pentax K-S2 and an older Pentax 100mm macro lens.

The dahlia Wildcat is one of approximately 300 varieties planted and maintained by volunteers at Dahlia Hill in Midland, Michigan.

The Cardinal Flower is in friends' garden — also in Midland, Michigan.

Best wishes,
Stu

Thanks for hosting nosliwmit. Lovely stuff as usual here. Visited Walter Sisulu Botanical Gardens on Monday, a fruitful visit. This contribution is from that visit.
Blessed to see Brown-hooded Kingfisher

And a Cape Rock Thrush

The Cape White Eye was a bit more elusive

Some of the flowers is just plain enchanting

And annually, there is an abundance of these in the gardens, I found a few trees laden with these

Two abstracts of buildings I see on morning walks around the neighborhood. Photographing the same familiar mundane is challenging, but at the same time it's interesting to observe how changes in light reveal new compositions. In particular the first photo doesn't work if the light is too flat, or too directional, depends on the cloud cover
Both with K1ii, first FA 100 macro and then FA 80-320
