Contest #508 LABOR

In the US we are approaching the Labor Day holiday. This is supposed to recognize the "workers." The definition of worker has changed over time so please think of worker and labor with an open mind and shutter. Actual working is fine as is the result of that work.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners (Submissions in by September 7th, I'll pick the winner on the 8th.
7. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
8. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

A lot of Toronto restaurant workers were laid off during the COVID lockdown, but were given government compensation. As part of a gradual reopening the City allowed distanced dining inside, and also closed down traffic lanes so that patios can extend out onto the street. Now many workers are re-employed, but the lane closures will end in November.

I could use weasel words and say I liked all of the entries, but it is true, I did. I watch the videos by the "professionals" on YouTube and hear the idea of telling a story with a photo. Often I think they stretch that idea but the photos here reinforce it. I have enough life experiences to relate in some way to every example. This made choosing a winner more difficult. I am naming Hattifnatt the winner. To be particular aside from the overall composition, the contrast of the manual labor and the apparent student at the table had an effect in the shot that had a strong "atmosphere" of the city at morning. I do not know the time but it seemed so to me. Thanks to all for your effort.
