Indeed fall is nearing peak color here. There were plenty of trees with brighter colors, but I couldn't find a composition. K1ii and kit lens, some dodge/burn in darktable.

update:
Another one from a walk around the block, w/ the dfa 100 macro. I slightly cooled down the left side of the frame.

Maybe it’s time to join in again after some time of absence.
I got some photos that I took within 1000 meters of my house on my daily walks.
Especially the last one was remarkable as this bird is sitting on a house roof in a residential area, although I do live on the outside, close to a canal and some “green”.

Hasse Lake

Taken at Hasse Lake, Alberta around midnight, Thursday October 15th. I've been into long exposure photography, using a flashlight, coloured gels and a stopwatch. I'm using a K5 and wide angle lens 10-17mm.

Thanks for Hosting nosliwmit. Usual weeks, some days of meh and other with good photo ops.

First is this great blue heron who flew into a cypress tree near where I was walking around a lake and struck a nice pose.

This is unfortunately an oil slick floating in the same lake

A minimalistic view of an Eastern Phoebe looking out over a swamp.

Lots of wonderful shots this week. Time to call #613 a roaring success and get #614 going.

I love the light in the foreground of your first shot and the simple lines and symmetry of your second.

Yes, thanks! The European robin is gorgeous, and I love the magpie deciding it's time to leave!

Great shots Noel. I'm very envious of the wildlife in your part of the world.

It looks like you made the most of it! I spent a weekend in Philly a few years ago and stayed near there. It was sad to see once-majestic ships rusting away, especially the aircraft carrier. Thanks for contributing!

Some real winners here Tom. I especially like the heron in the cypress tree. I love my DA*300 and I enjoy photos taken with yours as well!

I'll get the next POTW thread going now. Hope you all can find time to participate.
