I finally got out and took some non-macro photos! I went to an island called Tung Ping Chau on Sunday. It's the easternmost island of Hong Kong. It's very small and very close to China (closer to China than to Hong Kong). It was a beautiful day and I even went for a swim. All of these were taken with my K-1 Mk II and my DA 16-85 zoom, which doesn't get much use these days but was a good choice for the day since I only wanted to bring one lens...

Great rock formations along the shore:

Quite a few bits of pottery among the shells:

And lots of ruined structures:

I suspect this was here for the benefit of tourists like us:

Thanks for hosting and commenting in the last thread. Here are my shots for this week, all from walks around the neighborhood as it's been the case with most of my images this year

What drew me the most to this one was the soft yet directional light. k1ii and 100 macro

The sidewalk i was walking on is lower than the yard, so here i was holding the camera at about waist height. k1ii and kit lens

I got a lens ball for Father's Day a couple years ago and haven't really used it, so I figured I'd give it a try on Sunday taking pictures of the sunset from my yard. I had my daughter hold it up for me in this shot.

Before the new POTW arrives, let me contribute. It has been mostly B/W for the DiC monthly challenge-Monovember, but I did get some color ones
Selfie day got me going

A visit (again) to Kloofendal Nature Reserve (I like this place for the 4km hike that gives me exercise, as well as photo ops) where I got this.

And also a magnificent Millipede

A stint in the garden got me a spider

An early Christmas present got me on a high

It's nice to see some other HK photos. I saw a tortoise like that on the beach in DB a few years ago. It was being "walked" by its owner. Maybe the same one...

I like the light too. And the neglected bicycle. I especially like the lighting on your first leaf photo!

Looks like fun! And a nice sunset to boot!

Nice series Noel. The self-portrait is almost spooky! I have a soft spot for millipedes and spiders.

Thanks again everyone and I'll get another POTW going here in a little while...
