Weekly Challenge #527 : Window light.
Posted By: glinda, 03-07-2021, 04:54 AM

Weekly Challenge #527 - Window light :

Pretty simple really : an image taken with a window as the main source, window can be in the shot , or not.
subject is whatever you like , pets or people or objects, or just shadows, whatever you think looks good.

-- up to you

( hope that it lives up to mr pacerr's group of previous entries )

thanks.

The challenge closes on Saturday, March 13th.

The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

1. Post ONE photo.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

This is a photo of a cat (duh) sitting in the sunshine, obviously shining through a window

# 527

thanks everyone for your posted images.
A couple thoughts on each , just , well , because...

and then ...

Vaskebjorn:
I like the direct simplicity and lighting and composition , the cat. It is excellent. (Aside from the art of it , the light and dark ,, I love cats ;
It is one I would have liked to have taken, myself . )

djb47:
black and white window shades , I really like , for many reasons , as I like lines and angles, and b&w. good light.

RGlasel:
tableau , calming , speaks to me of peacefulness somehow, good natural light. Sense a good soul behind the camera.

atupdate:
dog/ puppy ... excellent light , innocence, newness, I love it , ,,, and ... it’s a PUPPY ! Excellent . I really like it , yes.

Kerrowdown:
I love the color and composition of coffeeeee time . It somehow just draws one (me) in .

jacamar:
The stained glass window , light on the lavender ( pretty sure it is lavender) . Nice color , nice too, the muted leaves through the window gives it depth .

WileyB:
Garlic in the sun , pure and simple , clean , I like it. Good shot.

CedrusMacro:
Well , it has the colors , the window , the natural light, interesting artwork
It’s different , a good shot.

Gee , I like all of them .....

SpecialK:
Now we have SpecialK,,
Window light on a cross; mountains , green trees , yet , snow in the mountains, sprigs of flowers —- sprig of cloud .
I love it .

charliezap:
Very nice black and white , good composition . Another I would have liked to have taken.. it’s a good shot, kinda organic.

Noelcmn:
Different , nice abstract ; ... detect a person in one pane . ( maybe? )
Not sure how you took that shot , maybe you will tell ...

StephenHampshire:
That’s a different shot too , I like it , it’s interesting how the center panes show , and those to each side , not ...
nice light .

Mr pacerr:
Well , it has good natural window light lighting the subject, a window, good color , good composition; humanity, two dogs ..
Good shot.

————

to me , you all are first place, for one reason or another . All win .... I like them all ....

That said , I’m going to turn it back over to Mr. pacerr :
.... a thumb , and , hint of hand on the sweet dogs , lit by sun through a window , did it.

————-
Thanks , all of you , again. You guys are great .

Kind of fun.
