Project 52, Week 25 - Humor
Posted By: DanLoc78, 11-20-2008, 06:16 AM

This might be a tough one, but I think it can be a nice break to find something amusing and share it with others. Whether it's somebody laughing, a funny face, a humorous situation, irony, sarcasm, whatever, try to capture something that will provoke a chuckle. I can't wait to see what people come up with for this.

Rules:

1. Anyone and everyone who is interested in eligible
2. Make an attempt to effectively capture the theme of the week
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color saturation) but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. let's try to keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves
5. There is one theme labeled black and white, but feel free to post black and white, sepia, etc. for any of the other themes
6. Have fun, provide constructive and friendly criticism, and fire away
7. You may post pictures taken before the current active week; however, only photos captured during the active week will be judged.

This week's theme "Humor" will run from today until Thursday, November 27th.

cut it out, dad...

there is a short story behind this one as well. This was shot today, when I was doing some work at my computer and noticed some great light coming through our bay window reflecting off of the kids' faces. Still in their jammies (at 10am or so) i threw some nice clothes on my son and asked him to pose for a couple shots near the window. He's been sick for a few days, really sick actually, so after the first two shots he refused to cooperate...and i feel in doing that gave me my best shot of the short session. This is a moderate crop, but I had to get in tighter on his 'non-cooperative' face. Shortly after i snapped this shot, he scampered away to play with his toys.

Why not, Dave? I back you on that one. A shame to leave some of those shots out. (I am not particularly plugging mine, I promise)

I'm fine with making an exception this week if others are.

No problem with that, as far as I am concerned.

No family resemblance

Here's one of the more creative non-carved ones I've seen.

I am glad I am not the only parent who seems to torture their kids because they need a subject to photograph. I hope your son is feeling better now. I think you've got a great capture here, so hopefully he has forgotten the torture of it all. You should see what I have to go through to get a family photo! You'd think I was asking them all to chop off a digit or something. I was lucky with my youngest son, he cooperated for a long long time actually. He'll be 9 at the end of December and he's pretty fed up with my photographing him. Then again, he knows if he cooperates with letting me get a few snaps, I'm more likely to cooperate with something he wants. He has figured it out, and it cracks me up to see him work it. lol

Usually both kids are very willing to pose, but with him being sick he was a bit out of sorts. I saw that great light coming through the window and I had to take a few shots, and I really think the one he was least cooperative with was the best one. Poor guy was in the hospital all last weekend with an asthma flareup, and he must have caught something else there...and it's making it's way through our house! so far i haven't gotten it...wish me luck!

Yikes! I know how it is when an illness strikes one in the house and it works its way through the whole family. Here is wishing you healthy vibes so you avoid it. Might be good to do a dose or two of Airborne?
