Challenge #538 - Railway Stations
Posted By: rod_grant, 06-19-2021, 09:38 PM

gump (Andy) gave me the honour (honor) of hosting the new weekly challenge, by picking my "road less travelled" in # 537.
The hardest thing about winning one week is deciding on a theme for the next...
so here goes; The theme is railway stations at will run until 8pm next Sunday (in whatever time zone you are in).
Good luck.

Weekly Challenge
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week. This challenge is Pentax-only.

Everyone is eligible to send in their best interpretation of the given theme, as long as the photo is taken with a Pentax/Samsung camera. Themes can be subject-oriented or technique-oriented.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax (or Samsung DSLR) camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be t

I find the last shot absolutely beautiful. I like the perspective and the color. The light gives a 3D look that’s most welcome when there’s no human figure in the frame.

This is a difficult challange. I do not have a lot that would qualify.
This is a railwaystation detail shot of a “thing to change signs alongside a track”

Thank you Michail. You may be interested to know that the interior image was taken inside the white station directly above it; the location is Ballarat Victoria which gained its wealth from 1850's gold rush.

Nevertheless, it is a fine picture, Richard.
Being part of the station's infrastructure, I say it qualifies (and I'm the king for this challenge!)

My local 'real' railway station - we'll forget the modern 'milk floats on rails' !!

As a friend says 'Do that with a "flipping" diesel !!!!!'

If it's allowable to change my submission, I'd like to switch mine out for this one. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I submitted the other one, as I had already taken this one a couple weeks before.

Not a passenger station, but a freight train waiting to be loaded.

Cincinnati Union Terminal - No longer an active train station; it now houses the Cincinnati History Museum, the Cincinnati History Library and Archives, The Children's Museum, abd the Museum of Natural History & Science.

It's there. If I remember right, it is an antivirus thing.
