Weekly Challenge #80 - "Lonely"

Weekly Challenge #80 - "Lonely"

Contest open - Now until Saturday, Dec.6.08 @ 1159PM. Winners declared on Sunday, Dec.7.08.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Comment: I'm a fan of taking photos that either imply or directly show feeling - so this week I thought I'd go with the topic/feeling of "Lonely". "Lonely" is fully open to interpretation by the forum members, and I look forward to seeing how this can, and will, be interpreted.

Consideration for the winning entry will include:
a) Implied, or direct, image depicting "lonely". Higher consideration for photos that do not imply (directly, or indirectly) any other emotion.
b) Composition and lighting that increases/emphasizes the topic.

Good luck and have fun!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As usual the Rules are as Follows :

1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be color or B&W, your choice.
3. You can offer as much or as little additional information as you wish, but if you have to explain it, it probably doesn’t communicate what you are trying for.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.

After a few hours of paddling around last summer on a very warm afternoon the herons were nowhere to be seen, no hawks or eagles flying and the fish weren't biting either. I paddled by this feather floating on the lake. K10D and Sigma 70-300 on Lake Luzerne,NY.

Here's my attempt.
I took this shot of my wife last week. It was not the kind of shot I was originally going for, but after the first attempt produced such cool lighting, I had my wife pose for this subdued photo. I really like this one.
