Welcome to the 648th edition of Pictures of the Week (POTW), covering the entire month of October 2021. The last thread got no other submissions, so we'll do a month review in the hope there's more material If there's enough interest, I'll start a new thread early November on the usual cadence. Let's see what you have been shooting and/or processing.

POTW is a great spot to show off six or fewer shots you take or are editing within the thread's date range.

I finally got out of town last weekend and visited Northern Ireland. The weather was wonderful and the scenery and hiking spectacular.

This is the remains of Dunseverick Castle. I don't know what it looked like in its day but what a location!

Well, since this looks like a Picture of the Month thread I think I'll post a few more! My wife and I went to Brussels last weekend to pick up our dog (who flew in from Hong Kong - long story...). I lived in Brussels 40 years ago and was happy to find that some of my favourite restaurants are still around! It's a picturesque place...

Fabulous gargoyles on the Hotel de Ville (City Hall) on the Grand Place:


The Hotel de Ville is covered in statues and gargoyles. I expect there's a story behind each one. There are a few conspicuous gaps (missing statues) in this photo and I expect there are stories there too:


Being the home of many cartoonists, there are many cartoon murals around town. This was one of my favorites (we saw about 20 of them):


Musee de la Ville on the Grand Place. Geographically opposite the Hotel de Ville, it almost looks black when the sun isn't shining on it so it's also tonally opposite:


Of course I'm not going to include a photo of the Manekin Pis, but here's the canine equivalent:
