Weekly challenge #565 - Speed · **1 Like**

Thanks Noelcmn for the interesting challenge last week, and especially for picking my photo as the winner. I really liked both Kerrowdown's and Tim's (atupdate) photos of the engines. So I was thinking maybe this week we could build on that, and see some shots of speed. Whether it's just a streak, or or you use a fast shutter speed to freeze time, let's see some shots of things moving fast.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

After the Snow melt...

The hunter and the hunted. The earths fastest land animal , cheetah, in pursuit of an Impala. The impala escaped by jumping into the water.

About 20 minutes later, it happened again, this time the Cheetah was more successful.

The first image is my official entry.

Nice clean capture cooks333, hummingbird was fast, but looks like the photographer was even faster!

Thanks, Cedrus. They're amazing little animals and so fun to photograph. Challenging, but very rewarding when you get a good shot.
