Weekly Challenge #566 - Leading Lines
Posted By: jchorst, 01-03-2022, 11:08 AM

Ladies and Gentlemen, a Happy New Year to everybody out there and welcome to the first Weekly Challenge in 2022 on this our beloved, the one and only Forum for Pentaxians! Who knows, where the new year will year lead us? To bring some clarity to this, my subject for this weeks challenge is "Leading Lines", i.e. lines in your picture that guide the viewers eye to a certain something. Other than that, there are no requirements. Let's see what you have!

The contest will close on Monday, 10th January 2022 midnight of your time zone.

Rules
1. Post ONE photo (max 1024x1024).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Here's one example:

Very nice. I like that Pentax Forum member named "gump" shoots a photo from a place that is unofficially called "Forest Gump Point".

A bit of an alternative take on the subject, although there are still leading lines.

This was taken this fall, just after it stopped raining. The aurora was supposed to be really bright that night, so I went out to a lake to see if the sky would clear up. I came around a corner and had to stop for this shot. It's still cloudy, but the aurora was strong enough to light up the clouds from above. Luckily there isn't much traffic out this way at night, so I was able to get a 30 second exposure as well as a 2 minute exposure, this is the 30 second one.

So, after looking through all my Pentax images...turns out I have a single leading lines image!
