Weekly challenge #584 - The eye of the beholder (Nonhuman)
Posted By: Yaki, 07-12-2022, 10:14 PM

Welcome to Weekly Challenge #584. Thanks to Noell ( noelcmn) for the last challenge, and for choosing my image as the winner! The beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and I like to take this thought literally for this challenge. But to make it a bit more specific those eyes should not be human. I suppose that many of you like watching eyes of different kind of animal species and catching them in pictures. Good luck, I look forward to your submissions.

The fine print:

Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.

The Challenge will run until midnight Tuesday 19 July 2022 SAST. Judging will happen on Wednesday morning. which does allow a few extra hours after midnight SAST. Let see what you have. Good luck!

Rules
1. Post ONE photo.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread.
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme.
9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge.

Here are some examples from my collection

I took some photos of our cats tonight to try to get a new photo for this, but then I remembered that I had a couple of photos of birds blinking with their "third eyelid", or nictitating membrane. I actually have photos a tricolored heron, a double-crested cormorant, and this great horned owl all with the third eyelid in action, but I like the owl the best. This owl was at a raptor rescue facility, that's why I could get that close.

Home gecko

I was working on my notebook and I noticed this little guy going around the room hunting flies and butterflies, he allways quickly disappeared behind the guardrobe, i turned on the cam and I waited him to reappear. I shooted just a second before he hided again behind that blue foulard, so I had been able to continue the tests on the old Vivitar 100-300 F5.6-6.7 MC MACRO on the K-S1.

Yeah, tried to upload and then tried to link, double fail. Not important, shot wasn't all that good I'll stick to looking at other people's photos!

Do you host your photos on a site like Flickr? If so, I can try to help you figure out how to link your photos.
