Welcome to Potw #41 12/14/08 - 12/27/08

This week's photos will cover these dates: Sunday Dec 14th till Saturday Dec 27th.

Let's keep up the high standard of shots we have seen over the past weeks.

Rules as before:

1) No theme just your favorite stuff.
2) Let's keep it to about 4-6 images per post just so the thread doesn't get too big each week .

4) Runs for 14 days. Sunday Dec 7th till Saturday December 20th.
5) Enter anything you shot last week or this current week until the thread closes.

Hoilday Greetings to all!

Dave, Thanks for hosting. Dry or not, it looks cold out west. I like both sets of shots but especially like the frozen berries in the second set.
D - great touch with the Cosina. I also like how the lights tunred out in the bokeh.
Alan - a couple of nice ones. I really like the footprints.
Georg (the other) - I really like the colours and sense of life in the market shot
Tom - great job on the predators. The sequence of the eagle fishing is very well done.
Tim - interesting snowflake and the poor chickadee is looking cold
Frank - congrats on the K20. The alarm clock seems to be saying, "Get up and take more pictures!".
SMF - interesting job on the icicle but I fear spring is still some time away around here.
Dave

Another shot with the new K20, this time using the DA 16-45. These flowers are in my kitchen with the early morning light on them. RAW with only levels adjustment and cropping.

Last weekend the kids had a Boy Scout camp out at a mostly inactive millitary base. I had to work on Sat. so I couldn't make it in time for the bicycle mud bog races or any of the fun stuff. Before we left the boys gave me a little tour and I had to find something to take a picture of.

Frank - you got a K20D ! Congrats , that is the best picture of a bedside alarm clock in this thread bar none Enjoy the new camera I am jelous. THe flower is much better showing the talents of the man and the camera.

SMF - nice captrue on the ice metling. Here srping is very far behind.

Dave - thanks for the comments. I love the xmas balls that phrase reminds me of a SNL skit with Alec Baldwin . Nice isolation and very dynamic series.

Tom - I like this one the light and mist are well captured.

Georg - not much snow there at all nice path shot.

James - a good shot showing flowers to spice up an otherwise dreary scene.

seacapt - nice shot I am surprised at all the colors in that shot.

Gary - a nice random series I like the last one the best.

Hope eveyone had a safe and great Christmas I know I did. I received several new books on photography so I am running out of excuses

The last several years my borther in law has invited his wife's side of the family to spend christmas at his cabin. To call it a cabin is a gross injustice. He built it himslef - all logs imported from BC, it is about 3500 sq ft and nicer than most homes people live in. Here are few shots

A remote Lake - I had no idea existed unitl he built a cabin there.

Was a great xmas as always. I will post some other shots later or in the next POTW thread.
