Project 52, Week 30 - Black and White 50mm
Posted By: DanLoc78, 12-28-2008, 06:38 PM

In honor of the travelling 50 I thought we could revisit one of the more popular P52 themes (black and white) with a slight twist...your shot must be taken at 50mm (50mm for film or the equivalent for digital). It doesn't have to be taken using a prime. All the other regular rules (below) also apply:

Rules:

1. Anyone and everyone who is interested is eligible
2. Make an attempt to effectively capture the theme of the week
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color saturation) but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. let's try to keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves
5. There is one theme labeled black and white, but feel free to post black and white, sepia, etc. for any of the other themes
6. Have fun, provide constructive and friendly criticism, and fire away
7. You may post pictures taken before the current active week; however, only photos captured during the active week will be judged.

This week's theme will run from today until Monday, January 7th.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. For digital, it must be the equivalent. IOW a 31mm or 35mm?

Or, are we ok with Focal length is focal length regardless of format?

Which means, I can use my FA 50 f/1.4 with my K20D for the exercise?

I prefer the length of the DA 35 = 53mm. This will be a good test for me using the FA 50 or 50mm on the DA*'s. Nice theme Dan.

I assume he is talking about the actual 50mm focal length, not APSC crop equivalent.

sorry for the confusion...50mm regardless of format is what i meant. Like Seamuis said, I was thinking focal length not crop factor. So, the FA50 would work if used with a film camera or digital.

Now, IMO, if you're allowed to do that, some will want to use their 43's.

I'd say "50"

Don't see a lot of activity here yet, so here's a quick one with the FA 50/1.4. She poses nicely, like most cats.
