PROJECT 52-11-55 (Supplementary)-PRIMARY COLORS- Green
Posted By: noelcmn, 09-25-2023, 06:04 AM

Welcome to the 11th edition of Project 52. I have participated in a few Project 52 kind of thing and there are plenty out there. One of the many aspects that have come to the fore is the value of participating, one of them being how much you learn-about technique, out of the box thinking, getting to know your camera's potential and a host of other values. WHY NOT JOIN THE PROJECT! Besides some discipline, there is not much else required except if you are chosen the winner, in which case you judge the next weeks challenge.

Themes covered will include but not limited to:
Colour
Architecture
DOF
Focus
Exposure
Landscape
Lighting
Perspective
Shutter
Subject- Multi-subject challenge
People
Ideas
Shapes
Home
Animals
Seasonal
Leisure

Rules
1. Anyone and everyone interested in the challenge is eligible. The goal continues to be to have fun and share comments, concepts, insights, and techniques
with fellow Pentaxians.
2. Each week will feature a Theme and Sub-concept for you to explore. The theme/sub-concepts are chosen by the facilitator every week. You are only
required to submit a photo taken during the week of the challenge.
3. Post your single picture in Project 52-11 thread for the week. Explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly
theme.
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color saturation), but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. Try to
keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves.
5. Since this project is about technique, and not camera, shots taken by non Pentax cameras are allowed. Cameras may be SLRs, DSLRs, Point & Shoot,
Medium Format, et cetera. And we will include images taken with phones as well.
6. There is one “Theme Concept” labeled “black and white,” but feel free to post black and white, sepia, monotone, etc., for any of the other themes.
7. The picture you post should be taken during the week in which the theme is active to be eligible for judging. It is up to the discretion of the current week's
Judge to accept or decline early/late entries i.e. a day earlier or a day late. Usually there is some flexibility here to allow as many entrants as possible. BUT
PLEASE DO NOT POST IMAGES TAKEN DAYS OR WEEKS OUTSIDE THE PERIOD OF THE CHALLENGE. TRY TO KEEP IT AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE
TO THE TIME FRAME. SOME FLEXIBILITY IS ALLOWED (after all life comes before photography) FOR OUT OF DATE/LATE SUBMISSIONS.
8. Additional images are welcome, but please keep them to a minimum. If more than one image is posted, make sure you identify your entry for the challenge.
Additional images should also please comply with rule 1 and rule 7.
9. Any picture taken from thread start date to listed closing date is acceptable. By default, attached photos will be shown below your message
Click on the button below to upload
10. The WINNER of each weekly challenge is the JUDGE of the next weeks Project 52-11 and may not participate in the current challenge.
11. The host/facilitator (in this case noelcmn) may participate in the challenge, provided he/she is not the judge.

This is a supplementary contest, or "unofficial" Projece 52-11 challenge, seeing that we have reached Week 52 of Project 52-11. This will run until the end of December 2023, to enable Project 52-12 to commence at the beginning of 2024. These supplementary challenged will include various themes, sub-themes and/or random subjects.
As usual, Project 52 is presented as a challenge to learn, develop and challenge yourself in your photography skills. It will folllow the usual format as far as Judging, time frames etc. Your participation is much appreciated.

And the next logical primary color is green, , The color of envy, or the Irish if you like. Also peace and tranquility, as well as hope, harmony, and optimism. You can take your pick! It is considered the color of nature, as it occurs in abundance there-plants, and has spurned a good few idioms such as "the grass is always greener on the other side". Or someone has green fingers- referring to success in gardening enterprises. This week the challenge is to use the color green as creatively as possible, not just boring old trees, plants. Add-on filters, a green backdrop, or green light all offer possibilities. Go ahead, and make us all green with envy at your creation

Excellent examples here: A Selection of Photos with a Green Theme

And here: 31 Ways The Color Green Can Make Your Photos Stand Out - 500px

And there is the Green thread here on PF: Going Green - PentaxForums.com

A fabulous example from that thread by stephenhampshire (anybody have any idea what has happened to him?)

From my collection

THE CHALLENGE RUNS FROM Monday 25th September - 1 October 2023 AND CLOSES AT MIDNIGHT IN YOUR TIME ZONE ON THE CLOSING DAY.

And still hoping for a facilitator/host for PROJECT 52-12 F for 2024!

Thanks for that Tom. Visited his Flickr page, and indeed he is active there. Wonder why he is not active on PF anymore? Love all his train photos.

My entry is a reminder to not forget that while blue and yellow pigment makes green, blue and yellow light make white . Cat lit with three flashes (yellow, blue and green gels), not much green but I thought I'd go with my mistake.

Green and greenback are slang terms for U.S. paper money. The term originated during the mid-1860s, when these notes were printed in green ink. Today, bills have some color on the back to make it more difficult to counterfeit -- yellow in the $20 bill.

Challenge closed, thanks all for your submissions, as usual super images. and the winner for this round is Yaki, all that beaituful bokeh makes it a wonderful shot, and I like the titbit of red/orange to give some balance to the image. Even if the fruit is infested with (probably) the larvea of a moth and therefore not edible, it's still a great shot. Congrats Yaki!

Thanks a lot Noel! For choosing my picture upon other great images. And thanks to mother Natur. I felt lack of ideas this week and it came to help with this beautiful view.
