Project 52, Week 33 - Simplicity
Posted By: DanLoc78, 01-23-2009, 06:34 AM

Rules:

1. Anyone and everyone who is interested is eligible
2. Make an attempt to effectively capture the theme of the week
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color saturation) but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. let's try to keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves
5. There is one theme labeled black and white, but feel free to post black and white, sepia, etc. for any of the other themes
6. Have fun, provide constructive and friendly criticism, and fire away
7. You may post pictures taken before the current active week; however, only photos captured during the active week will be judged.

This week's theme will run from today until Saturday, January 31st.

Rats I have a photo I took last evening that would work, but that is before date. I'll see what I come up with before the deadline. I will enjoy seeing what folks contribute here. I like this theme a lot.

Not the most briliant photo, but it probably fits this weeks theme. It's a shot from of the glass roof from the first floor of the 6 or 7 floor Forum building of the Wageningen University. I like the architecture of this building very much. I think it fits the theme because there are only straight lines...

I love using these weekly threads to help me expand my photographic skills. I look to these threads to find inspiration for the subjects as well as other's points of view. Here is my addition to this week's theme. It is -10 out and looking out on my deck I saw a long icicle hanging parallel with the balusters. With the sunset lighting and illuminating the icicle I immediately thought of this week's theme:

I liked the simple parity between the man made background and the natural formation of ice.

Well this is probably about as simple as it gets.
It was a picture of my pants:

A cat hole in a granary door (just realized this is too old to be judged, hope you like it nevertheless)

Not for competition, it's an older photo (from about two weeks after I got my K100D) but it rather fits the theme...

I love this. The texture is great and the fact that someone cut that hole special for the cat is engaging.

I grew up on a farm. We had a cat hole on the milk room door. Covered it with a thin piece of rubber from an inner tube to keep the heat in.

Worked well. This is a nicer image though...
