2. Make an attempt to effectively capture the theme of the week
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. Some post-processing is OK (adjusting white balance, exposure, color saturation) but let's try to stay away from heavily PP'ed images here. let's try to keep the creativity to photographic techniques and the captures themselves
5. There is one theme labeled black and white, but feel free to post black and white, sepia, etc. for any of the other themes
6. Have fun, provide constructive and friendly criticism, and fire away
7. You may post pictures taken before the current active week; however, only photos captured during the active week will be judged.

This week's theme will run from today until Sunday, February 15th.

My Kid thought I should post this more traditional still life. It was taken on Thanksgiving Day '08 .He came into the kitchen while we were trying make dinner and complained about being bored. He said he wanted to use a camera but there was nothing to take pictures of so I grabbed the camera , took this shot and told him to use his imagination and kicked him out of the kitchen.

A still life for Valentine's Day

Taken with my brand new K 50 f/1.2, which does some pretty amazing bokeh things to roses.
