Weekly Challenge #90: Old Roads
Posted By: Javaslinger, 03-02-2009, 06:28 PM

This weeks topic: Old Roads

The theme for this Weekly Challenge is Old Roads. This road is the feature of the shot... It can be gravel, dirt, paved, in the city, in the country, whatever, but the idea is there is something about the shot that imparts a feeling that this is an Old Road... It can be the scene itself, the composition, some post processing such as B&W, or other elements in the image that impart the mood... Whatever, be creative, but make that road feel Old...

Good Luck everyone!!! I can't wait to see what you all come up with

All entries to be posted by Midnight EST Sunday March 8th.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with!!

Javaslinger (aka Ken)

----------------------------------------------
As usual, the rules are as follows...

1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be color or B&W, your choice.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.
8. Pictures can be from any timeframe, not just within the week of the current theme.

The utter lack of comments makes me wonder if my chosen theme is unpopular.... or just sucks....

Theresienstraße, Rhodt Unter Rietburg, Germany

The beautiful main street of this wine village got its current name less than 200 years ago, but the street is much older, many of the houses are about 500 years old, and the village itself dates back to roman times.

This is Tram road outside of Tallahassee. The old tram has a state highway paved over it. This was taken through the windshield at 55mph during a shower in the rainy season.

I haven't played in a while so I'll give it a shot.

Not necessarily an old road but I kind of made it look that way.

This is the Arch of Philip V located at the foot of the Puente Viejo (built in 1616) which spans the Rio Tajo in Ronda, Spain. The road makes a switchback on the left hand side, with a 30 percent incline (I should have taken a picture of the scuffs on the stone walls).
