Where two rivers meet

Here is my entry. It's a shot that I took in Harper's Ferry where the Potamac and the Shenandoah river meet. The church steeple in the foreground (I believe) is Saint Peters.

I don't really have anything really good to offer for this challenge and don't forsee being able to get out and take something worthy before the end. So I'm going to post up this picture of my two oldest kids sitting on some rocks next to the Niagara River in Tonawanda along the Riverwalk last year.

Here's a shot off Rt 61 in Tazewell County, VA.... This is 'technically' Wolf Creek... but it's hardly a creek... So hopefully it still qualifies...

Anyway, I'm very, very jealous of the homes these people have! However I hear this 'creek' floods a lot and that looks like trouble...

Hope you enjoy!

Spanning the Ohio River

My entry taken from a paddleboat on the Ohio River (Cincinatti, Ohio).

Here is my son getting to drive the boat.

And the paddles in action.

Woot! Post number 500!!!!

Okay, here's a river (a very small one) that's in the process of migrating sideways as it meanders along... This bank erosion process is mostly freeze-thaw and ends up with slabs of soil being dislodged and sliding down to be washed away in the next high water. It works pretty well for migrating hte channel, over long enough timespans

Jim (OK, OK, I picked a photo of the stuff I did my thesis on, what can I say? <GRIN>)

When someone mentions "The River" around here it's the Hudson. It looks a little different up here than it does in NYC or New Jersey but some tourist managed to spray paint some graffiti on the rocks to add some "city" atmosphere. This was shot in Janurary with the kit lens.

David,
I like your photo of the fisherman on the Okavango Delta.
Where you in a balloon or helicopter, perhaps?

This is from Rifle Falls, Colorado.

I was on my way to a different water fall and had no intention of visiting these. But I happened to see a sign to these while driving Sat afternoon. I drove by the sign at first then decided to turn back and check these out. Glad I did.
