Weekly Challenge #93: Beautiful Bokeh

Easy, peasy challenge this week....just post a favourite pic of yours that showcases some beautiful bokeh.

Now, before we begin I must admit that I'm am definitely not a bokeh master by any stretch...so I'm not looking for anything technical in the bokeh (rings, smoothness, etc.). Just show me some beautiful bokeh that compliments the photo, isn't distracting to the main subject matter, and isn't overbearing in the image in any way.

Good luck and have fun! Judging will be made next Sunday (when I wake up in the morning).

The rules are as follows...

1. Post ONE photo (max 1000x1000).
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme. It can be color or B&W, your choice.
3. Post your single picture in this thread, and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and chose 1 of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus a day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera will do or a Samsung DSLR.

I took this one yesterday in the backyard:

This is a retaining wall blanketed in ice plant. The bright magenta blooms appeared just this week. Photo taken with Pentax *ist DL and Cosina 55mm at f/1.2 1/4000sec ISO 200 with Hoya HMC circ pol to remove a stop or so of light so f1.2 wouldn't overexpose.

I am in love with my takumar and one of the reason is the very dreamy bokeh it creates

Shakespeare Contemplates the Rain on His Window

PSYCH!

I've retracted my silly little Shakespeare shot in favour of this one, taken with FA50/1.4 + Viv 2x Macro Teleconverter:

Talk about not seeing what's right under your nose: this guy lives as the wallpaper on my desktop!

One of my "Erickson" birdhouses. This guy makes birdhouses out of old torn down barns.

The snow on the ground helped light up underside of the birdhouse and the distant
trees helped it stand out a little more.

Hard to complain with any bokeh offered by the FA*200mm F2.8. A classic example here:
